Welp, Week 1 of the 2024 College Football Season has come and gone. Below I will recap what we played, what the results were, and the season record so far. Let’s dive in… see you in the DEEP WATERS!!!
On Thursday August 29, the college football season opened with week 1 games. I placed a wager on the Western Carolina vs North Carolina State Under 62 points. It ended up being an absolute sweat! The game ended with WCU having the ball on the NC State seven yard line. Thankfully the clock ran out and we cashed the bet by three points. Final score was NC St 38-21. Season record 1-0 +1 unit.
On Friday August 30, we took the Oklahoma Sooners on the spread to beat the visiting Temple Owls by 42 points. Thankfully OU’s backups were able to sustain a late touchdown drive and cash us the second play of the year. Final score was Oklahoma 51-3. Season Record 2-0 +2 units.
The first full Saturday slate was upon us on Saturday August 31, and we had two plays for the day. The first bet was a three team money line parlay. The three legs were Georgia, Rice, and Arizona State. Georgia manhandled Clemson and Arizona State ended up blasting Wyoming. Unfortunately, Rice laid a dud at home to Sam Houston State and lost 34-14. This brought us the first loss of the season and the record to 2-1 +1 unit.
In the second play of the Saturday slate, we had Ohio State vs Akron Over 56.5. The Ohio State offense came out flat in the first half and it was not looking great. Thankfully they exploded in the second half, defense got a touchdown as well, and we cashed the bet. Final score was Ohio State 52-6. Season Record 3-1 +2 units.
For the last play of week 1 we sided with Boston College on Labor Day. On Monday September 2, BC went into Tallahassee Florida and beat the Florida State Seminoles outright. We had BC +16.5 and thankfully it was a no sweat cover. Final score was BC 28-13. Season record 4-1 +3 units.
So there you have it, the first recap of the 2024 college football season! What an awesome weekend it was just to have all these games back, but also a great start to the gambling year. I look forward to the weeks ahead! See you all next week and weekend for week 2.
